Plain English Overview: Little Red is an offline, private journaling companion to the 1926 public domain book It Works. Your license to use this app is governed by Apple's Standard EULA and the supplemental conditions set forth below.

1. Apple Standard EULA Agreement

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Little Red: Manifest Journal (the "Application"), you agree to be legally bound by Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Standard EULA"), published by Apple Inc. at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/, together with these Terms of Use.

If you do not agree with any portion of these terms, do not install or use the Application.

2. Public Domain & Historical Method Status

The method implemented in this Application is drawn from the historical book It Works: The Famous Little Red Book That Makes Your Dreams Come True, authored by R. H. Jarrett and published in the United States in 1926:

  • Public Domain Work: The original 1926 work entered the public domain in the United States pursuant to applicable copyright law.
  • Independent Software: Little Red: Manifest Journal is an independently authored and published digital companion. The Application is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by R. H. Jarrett, his estate, heirs, or any commercial publishing entity.

3. In-App Purchase & Pricing Structure

The Application is provided under a clear, transparent pricing model:

  • Free Tier: Little Red is free to download and use. The free version provides full access to the 1926 three rules framing, up to 3 active desires ("wants"), three daily reading sessions (morning, noon, night), and local reminder notifications.
  • Lifetime Unlock: The app provides a single optional in-app purchase titled Little Red Unlock (StoreKit product ID app.littlered.itworks.unlock) for a one-time charge of $19.99 USD (or local tier equivalent; prices are shown in USD and may vary by country or region). The unlock provides:
    • Unlimited active desires on your list;
    • Biometric app lock (Face ID / Touch ID);
    • Complete streak-history practice calendar.
  • No Subscriptions: The unlock is a non-consumable, lifetime entitlement. There are no recurring subscription fees, automatic renewals, or maintenance charges.
  • Restoring Purchases: You may restore your lifetime unlock on any iOS device linked to the same Apple ID at any time via the in-app "Restore Purchases" button without additional charge.
  • Payment & Refund Authority: All financial transactions, billing inquiries, and refund requests are processed exclusively by Apple Inc. under Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. The developer has no access to payment instruments and cannot issue direct refunds.

4. On-Device Data & User Responsibility

Little Red is designed with a decentralized, serverless architecture:

  • All desires, categories, notes, completion timestamps, and streaks are stored solely within the local storage sandbox on your personal device.
  • The developer operates no user accounts and retains no copies of your data.
  • You are solely responsible for backing up your device using standard Apple iCloud or iTunes device backups if you wish to preserve your journal across device migrations.
  • The developer cannot recover or reconstruct lost data resulting from device loss, damage, operating system reinstalls, or deliberate resets.

5. As-Is Disclaimer & No Guarantees

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Little Red is a tool for personal habit-keeping and private contemplation. The developer makes no guarantees or representations regarding personal, spiritual, financial, or material outcomes resulting from your use of the Application or practice of the method described in the 1926 book.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION.

While the text and method of the 1926 pamphlet are in the public domain, the software code, application layout, visual designs, brand iconography ("The Ribbon" mark), digital typography arrangements, and promotional materials of Little Red: Manifest Journal are original works protected by international copyright laws. All rights not expressly granted under Apple's Standard EULA are reserved.
